This week, the Keystone UAS traveled down to Pavia (or Claysburg for the GPS) to tackle the red clay bullring- Red Rock Raceways. After a couple days prior of heavy rains in the area, the sun came out to welcome 9 muscle karts to the south eastern PA mountains. Red Rock typically runs 1 heat and a feature, so they worked out a way for the KUAS to get both heats and feature in.
Action was fast through both heats with minimal cautions. Here are the heat results: Heat 1 Heat 2
The feature was a very fast paced, CAUTION FREE race that saw Brandon Oldham get out front and pull away from the field. It was by no means a walk off for Oldham, Kyle Pease was within striking distance most of the race. A great back and forth battle lasted for laps between Dan Burket and Denny Furlow, with Burket able to hold on to the 3rd spot. No cautions gave the fans a great fast paced show, lots of action, and made it a blast to call! Congratulations to Brandon Oldham scoring the KUAS national ¼ point race #1 win of 2017. Here are the feature results:
Thank you to all that made their way down and put on a great show! Thanks also to Chuck, Troy, and all the staff at Red Rock Raceways that always make us feel right at home when we go. Not to mention the opportunity to chat on the horn all night. I had a great time! Next up is part of the camping weekend with the Empire UAS at Penns Creek on Saturday July 8th. There is a non points race at Selinsgrove Raceway Park Friday night if you want to make it a weekend of racing and fun! Steve T

Congratulations to Dan Burket who won the Keystone UAS point race at Naugle Speedway on Saturday June 10. This was the opening race for the KUAS. The first two races on their schedule were rained out. Paul Deasey gave Dan a run for the money finishing close in second. That pair was clearly dominant. Dennis Furlow was third, Harry McElhaney was fourth, Brian Hartzell was fifth, Larry Reigleman 6th, Mike Clark 7th. The only DNF was Mark Bergfelt who was running strong early on but the power of his Vindicator engine ripped the teeth off of his axle sprocket.
