After a few year hiatus, the Keystone UAS made their return to Goodhope Speedway, revisiting a track was a schedule staple. With warmer temperatures and plenty of sun, the drivers had to be on their “A” game to tame this track. Nine muscle karts joined in on the race.
Heat 1 winner: 707 Paul Deasey Jr Heat 2 winner: 77F Denny Furlow Feature time came and only seven of the nine who started the night were heading out for the 20 lap finale. Denny Furlow checked out on the field early and looked very strong out there. However, the caution flag flew while the 69 of Brian Hartzell was slowing on the track and heading off. After a caution lap or so, race leader Furlow pulled to the inside just in front of the flagstand. Paul Deasey Jr assumed the lead for the restart and never looked back. Feature Results:
All in all, it was a fun and challenging return to Goodhope Speedway. I would like to thank the staff for opening their doors to the muscle karts and working with us to put on a great show. Next up is a trip to Blairsville Speedway and the John Smith Memorial Race on August 12th. This will be Keystone’s 2nd National ¼ point race of the season.

Race number 3 of the KUAS season was a trip to the triangle at Penns Creek. This was a joint effort with the Empire UAS and one of their national 1/4 pt races. This was also a part of the UAS camping weekend with a Friday night race at Selinsgrove. Race washed out the Selinsgrove event (it was a non points race). Due to prior commitments and work obligations, I was not able to make the event. The only run down was a finishing order that Jimmy White had put together.
1. Jimmy White 2. John Garde 3. Eric Grice 4. Jeff Drugan 5. Brett Mesler 6. Bobby Baldwin 7. Austin Suain 8. Ben Taft 9. Steve Windle 10. Raymond Vossler 11. Dan Burket 12. Brian Hartzell 13. Tom Voeltz 14. Mark Bergfelt 15. Zac Lamb 16. Kyle Pease 17. Cody Zimmerman . Next up for the KUAS is a revisit to a track that was a regular staple to the series, Goodhope Speedway in New Springfield, Ohio on July 29th. Hope to see everyone there and have fun no matter where you race! Steve T |
