Red Rock Raceway was a new addition to the KUAS schedule for the 2016 season. With the track only being open the previous year with day racing, drivers were not sure what to expect for the first year of Saturday night shows. The track is a beautiful facility nestled in the mountains, It was a little difficult to get into because the GPS had the destination a few miles down the road. Anyway, it was a toasty day to be at the track. Normally, they only run one heat, but we were able to run 2 and the feature. Of the 9 muscle karts that came out, 7 were able to make it to the feature. Dan Burket was caught in a heat race spin with Brandon Oldham and broke his manifold and while the caution laps were running, Hillary Truitt's clutch came apart.
For the feature, it was a fast race around the bullring that saw John Garde come out with the national 1/4 points race win. Finish Order:
Next up: we head to Stoneybrook Speedway with the Empire UAS for a special weekend of racing. It is a regular KUAS points night and a national 1/4 pts race for the Empire region. There is also a Sunday, non points race scheduled.
